In 1998 we began with one mare: Tig-A-Marole. She was small for show-hunter standards and looked like a giant pony. Her petite frame, sweeping trot, superb jump, stellar attitude, and graceful presence made her an ideal candidate.
She exceeded our expectations by producing three fabulous ponies and one amazing horse:
Crocodile Rock
Dragonfly High Rock
Dragonfly Shamrock
Island Time (horse)
Both Crocodile Rock and Dragonfly High Rock won multiple champions and reserves in the breeding rings on the east coast. High Rock was VPBA and VHSA high-point colt/gelding 2002 and won third at Devon as a yearling.
Shamrock is a successful performance pony with many ribbons under her belt. Island Time, our only horse foal, has been retained and is proving to outshine his pony siblings in style and attitude!
We continued our breeding program with our mare Bet I Can and produced Dragonfly Hot Rock aka Rock Paper Scissors who is now a successful performance pony in NC. (pictured above jumping)
In 2008 we added two new ponies from Brookside Stud to our program: Brookside Rendezvous and Brookside Makebelieve. Rendezvous (DeeDee) is my daughter's performance pony now but she will be bred in years to come after Summer outgrows her. Makebelieve (Bella) is currently bred to Land's End Monarch, Venture Stable's up-and-coming pony stallion. Both mares' classic welsh breeding, outstanding performance, and willing attitude make them invaluable additions to our program.
